I just wanted to let everyone on The PATH² know why there hasn't been a blog post in a while and also that there is still lots of practical information available to help you increase your health and happiness.
Recently, myself and an incredibly amazing soul planted the seed of a new yoga space called Bhakti Yoga Lounge in the Sugarhouse neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah. We've been super devoted to cultivating a special environment for everyone that wants to reap the fruit of yoga. So that has required much of our time and attention. But I haven't forgotten about The PATH² or about you. Far from it.
Yoga, the way I was taught it, is all encompassing. It develops our awareness, first in the body, but then in our thoughts and emotions, as well as our surroundings. The real power in yoga is that It allows us to make conscious decisions about how to respond best to what life is giving us. And these little choices, countless little choices end up forming the situations we find ourselves in right now, like me being involved in writing this post, or you reading it.
What situations do you find yourself in? If you practice yoga, especially the kind off the mat, then can you deconstruct these situations into the the acts and omissions on your part that allowed them to come to pass? Can you further deconstruct your behavior into the thoughts and feelings you had that informed it? Can you go even further and see how your perceptions influenced your thoughts and feelings and how your values and innate tendencies influenced your perceptions? Try, now. Peel the onion.
That's yoga. It's the process of addition by subtraction. And that's the key to understanding why your life is the way it is right now. Within that understanding lies to power to reshape your life situation to more authentically reflect what you want out of life.
So, practice yoga. It doesn't have to involve a mat. For instance, Karma Yoga is the yoga of action. Yoga can literally practice it anytime you are awake. Often the yoga you practice off the mat is the most beneficial.
The Good News is that just being on The PATH² as you are here and now means you're interested in practicing yoga, whether you realize it or not. Congratulations. That interest is a stepping stone to a greater quality of life.
If you look around this site you'll likely find the next stepping stone, and the next, until you get to the point where there's nowhere else to go because you are exactly where you should be. That's where The PATH² takes you.
If you can't find your way, all the way then send me an email and I'll point it out, as others who've gone before me have pointed out the way when I wasn't sure. Likewise, I encourage you to point out the way you've taken to find greater health and happiness when you see someone else standing at a crossroads where you once stood.
We're all walking the same road in life. Shout to those ahead of you for directions. Look behind you and give guidance to those following.
